Ph.D. Studentship: EPSRC Project REASON

Post Type: Full-time, fixed-term for 36 months

As a result of funding under the 3rd EPSRC Crime Prevention and Detection Technologies call, we are seeking a Ph.D. student to undertake study on a high profile research and development project. The project will employ computational vision techniques for robust monitoring of people in public spaces. The project aims to research, develop and evaluate a multi-camera vision system in both an indoor and outdoor setting. The project is strongly driven by end-user involvement.

You will have a strong scientific background, ideally in computer science, and experience with programming in C/C++ and ideally in Linux, and knowledgeable of techniques in image processing. You will have ideally have either a B.Sc. degree in Computer Science/Systems Engineering or an M.Sc. with similar research experience in a relevant area.

You will be able to demonstrate a keen interest in state-of-the-art research and development, working alongside academic partners and end users to achieve goals within tight time constraints.
